Some time ago we worked out a deal regarding dishes: whoever makes the meal gets to take a break from cleaning up. I know everyone has their own policy, but this one has brought
me a lot of happiness.
The picture below gives a good idea of how
Chris feels about our deal:

Actually, Chris is a pretty willing participant, but you can't blame him for sometimes being a little less enthusiastic as I'm the one that prepares the really big meals for guests. Although I normally do pretty well at cleaning as I go, there are always plenty of dishes used for actually serving and eating the meal.
What, if any, chore "deals" or arrangements do you have with your spouse or roomie(s)??
Supposedly we have a similar deal worked out, but somehow we seem to always get backed up on actually doing the dishes. I'm glad to see that Chris follows through with his half of the bargain, even if he's less than enthused. :)
ReplyDeleteRead above. At this point, whoever cooks, also cleans (if I can bring myself to follow through and require it). Unfortunately the deal yall have (that we had) only worked for about a year and then Jess totally slacked off his end. :( ahwell.
ReplyDeleteThats one of our favorite deals too! :) Sharing is great!
ReplyDeleteHusbands are wonderful to help so much!
We have been thinking of you guys a lot lately and just wanted to drop a quick note. How are you? You look amazing!! Addie is getting so big! She is absolutely beautiful! :)
We sure miss you guys!
You are a DOll, Chris! That is a good deal you have going there.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite arrangement with Danny is that he says the morning prayers and I say the evening prayers. He used to just mix up who he called on for each one, but we realized shortly into our marriage that I am SO not a morning person and he is SO not a nighttime person. So my morning prayers would be incoherent mumbling and his evening prayers would be the same. Until I put my foot down and told him I was no longer willing to say morning prayers. :) Our new arrangement works very well.
ReplyDeleteMichelle--that is such a good idea! We have ours set up so that on day one he says morning, I say night, then the next day, I say morning and he says night, and we just keep alternating in that pattern. But I'm with you on the husband being a morning person and me, the wife, being a night person... that's definitely an interesting idea!!
