We're Back!!!

Last Monday we ventured out on a long-awaited trip to see our friends The Joneses. The practical way of travel for this journey was by train, so by train we went. On our way up we took a detour to Semipalatinsk. On our way back we stopped in Astana (the capital of Kazakhstan) and stayed overnight with the Wellings. We had a great time, but it was nice to return home.

Our itinerary looked a little like this:

Monday
-Depart from Almaty at 1 p.m.
Tuesday
-Arrive in Semipalatinsk at 11 a.m., tour the city
-Depart from Semipalatinsk at 4 p.m.
-Arrive in Pavlodar at 11 p.m., find Nathan Jones at the train station, join him in taxi and go to Sharbakti
Wednesday-Friday
-Hang out in Sharbakti with the Joneses
-Leave the Joneses on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a taxi for Pavlodar
-Depart Pavlodar by train at 10 p.m.
Saturday
-Arrive in Astana at 7:30 a.m., head to Wellings, tour Astana
Sunday
-Attend Church with the Wellings
-See some of the city
-Catch the 9 p.m. train to Almaty
Monday
-Arrive in Almaty around 5 p.m.
