The Baiterek
Inside the Baiterek
This family rode up the elevator with us and was able to discern that we are Americans. They wanted to take a picture with us, so we decided to take our own picture too.
This is an imprint of President Nazerbayev's hand. My hand fit pretty much perfectly (I don't have monster hands, I promise).
Chris had to bend his knuckles a little.
Astana is the home of a world-wide gathering of religions every three years. This table recognizes the 17 "traditional" religions who took part in the last gathering (which was also the first). We hope to see The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints included in that group someday, and hopefully soon.

Holding the Baiterek in our hands

It's obviously NOT me. =)

Haha! That's awesome! I can't believe you can still carry Addie that way! If I did that with Emmett my back would be killing me! But then again, my child is a little on the large side. She's a doll!
