Chocolate Chip Cookie Mom

Many many moons ago I had a youth leader named Margo. I very distinctly remember Margo talking about how she wanted to be a "Chocolate-Chip-Cookie" Mom. This meant she would always have fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for her kids when they came home from school.

I thought this was a great idea! I soon adopted it into my own "things to do when I'm a mom" list. (Unwritten, just little things noted over time.)

The only problem with this "goal" was that I would have to make a new batch of cookies every day in order for the cookies to be hot-out-of-the-oven-fresh. Enter my second year at LDSBC and a revelation! One afternoon I was hanging out with my friend Emily (and all her fun roommates) when she decided to make cookies. After making the batch she proceeded to scoop out all the cookies onto a cookie sheet or casserole dish and stick them in the freezer until they were firm. She then transferred the cookies into a large ziploc bag or tupperware container. I had found my answer!!!

Chris has thoroughly enjoyed my desire to be, at this stage, a chocolate chip cookie wife. =)

  1. So do you freeze the dough? And just take out a dozen or so and cook them like that?

  2. Yeah! It's soooo easy! Chris usually bakes the cookies himself, as many as he wants, when he wants. I tease him about it... but he's pretty good at putting away the whole batch of cookies in a week's time. =)
